Tech giant Apple says it’s working on software that will allow people to control the smart home.
The move to make its smart home systems more intelligent comes after Apple announced its new HomeKit smart home platform, which will help smart home devices detect and control thermostats, lights, security systems, door locks and even other devices.
Apple’s new Home app for iOS and tvOS will allow you to control and monitor your smart home with voice commands, Apple said in a blog post on Monday.
“It’s not a matter of replacing the voice controls with voice controls,” said Apple VP of Home Chris Carr in the post.
“It’s a matter in controlling devices in a more intuitive way that lets people use Siri to control these devices.”
The HomeKit platform will let users control and control smart home smart devices, such as thermostat, lights and security systems with voice command, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the blog post.
Users can also control smart devices remotely using voice commands.
Apple is one of the biggest technology companies in the world and has been building smart home software for years.
The company says it has sold more than 300 million HomeKit devices, which are used to control smart thermostators, lights or security systems.
