NEW YORK — The NFL Digital Office will soon be headed by an executive who will work closely with the league’s national team, the league announced Wednesday.
Former NFL vice president of media partnerships Bill McManus, a native of Detroit, will be named the new executive director of the league Digital Operations, according to a statement from the league.
McManus’ past experience includes leading the NFL’s digital operation for five seasons (2005-09) and serving as vice president for NFL Media, the digital agency that includes the NFL Network, NFL.com, the NFL GameDay Experience, and NFL.tv.
The transition to McManuses’ role comes after the NFL launched its own digital initiatives in 2015, including an effort to stream the NFL All-Star Game and the NFL Championship Game to digital platforms.
